What is a passion project?
Why you should start thinking about your own passion project?
How to start thinking about your own passion project, it is something you work on that is outside of what you do daily. This can be anything you set your mind on, that something which, gives you satisfaction and keeps you connected with your inner self and has tangible results. All you need is inspiration and commitment.
Don’t censor your ideas in thinking I can’t do that, a passion project is not about the results it is about creative action on your terms. I started taking photographs, painting journals, scribbling as part of a daily routine. It’s a two-fold creative process, doing something you love that is important to you and secondly, it gives your mind the wings to fly.
A passion project can be writing a book, taking a photography class, publishing your photos into books, committing to a local NGO, really anything that fuels your passion. Passions and perfecting your art and can be challenging work. Remind yourself to do the work even when the going gets tough. There is no substitute for work and working on your project is work.
A guide to a passion project is that it is bigger than you. It is something that you feel you need to do. Don’t feel that there must be a monetary reward towards your project. When you feel ready and the opportunity does come your way to make your passion into a business then take the step.
Passion projects give you that creative outlet to refuel your internal batteries to make your big and small moments count.
