When you struggle with me-time

When you struggle with me-time

when you struggle with me-time

Time is something we never seem to have enough off. The crazy thing is we all have the same amount of time, probably read the same books about time, went on time management courses, yet at the same time we have no time. What now is the question?

How do you make time when you have no time

  • The easiest way to do this is to eliminate activities that is a waste of time or doing activities that no longer serve you. Define the time monsters in your life, how long does it take for you to do certain tasks. Re-think those tasks, what can you do differently, is it possible to outsource some of them, maybe stack them up and block the time to do everything at once. When you don’t like a task, procrastination is queen, find ways to do those tasks in a way that doesn’t drag out it out.
  • Break your day into tasks, what do you really need to do and find time for those tasks. For me this is easier than working on a to do list. I know I want to have one hour creative time in a day, therefore I work my tasks around that one hour a day to create the time – make sense.
  • Define the time wasters in your life, look at what you can do to minimize them or cut them out of your life. I cut out watching television, you cannot imagine how much time I have for myself now, where I used to spend three hours binge watching a series, I take out my painting supplies and create my intuitive faces, I feel good, I feel refreshed, I’m all renewed and energized for other things I want to do.

This is three small steps that is do-able you can work with your time-frames to create more time.

When you have created these time pockets, look at how you can work within these time chunks. Give yourself 15 minute projects that you can do every day, whenever your have those time chunks available. Don’t tell yourself, I’ll do it at 7am or 9pm, believe me that never works.

It’s those time pockets in-between, waiting for the kids at game practice in a car for an hour, asking yourself what can I bring with me to create in that time frame. What do I need to be in this creative space. When you start to define these pockets of time for yourself, and live in your creative mode, wherever you are, you feel happier and your confidence grows. The biggest gift you can give yourself here is to be flexible, yet make it do able.

Take care – Debbera
