The Litsje Self-Care Journal: Your Guide to Holistic Well-being
Your journey to self-care starts here. The Litsje Self-Care Journal is a guided journal that helps you explore all aspects of your self-care journey. It includes 8 areas of focus that include physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual self-care, amongst others. The journal also allows you to reflect on your self-care transformation, set goals, understand boundaries, and track your progress.
By journaling about your self-care, you can identify areas that need improvement and make lasting changes to enhance your overall health and well-being. Before we dive into the specific sections, we will spend some time discussing the 8 areas of self-care focus that fills your cup and how we can incorporate them into your schedule.
Physical self-care
Physical self-care encompasses anything that takes care of your body. Examples include healthy snacking, running, dancing, walking, swimming, holistic supplements, and exercise. A relaxing bath, a soothing massage, facial, manicure or pedicure, skin care, and healthy sleep habits also contribute significantly to physical self-care.
mental self-care
Mental self-care involves activities that stimulate your mind or help it relax. Examples include growth mindset work, personal development, reading a book, listening to an audiobook, a podcast, watching a documentary, journaling, visualization, and playing a musical instrument.
emotional self-care
Emotional self-care includes activities that help you process your emotions. Examples include journaling, meditation, naming your emotions, identifying things you want to say “yes” to, and others you need to say “no” to, checking in with your therapist, and writing a gratitude list.
social self-care
Social self-care involves activities that help you connect with others. Examples include calling a friend or family member, going to brunch with the girls, having coffee with a colleague, sending a card or flowers to a friend, or going on a date with your significant other.
spiritual self-care
Spiritual self-care encompasses anything that helps you connect with your deepest self and your higher power. Examples include prayers, meditation, engaging with your faith-based community, any spiritual ritual or routine, and writing letters to people you need to forgive (even if you don’t send them).
career self-care
Career self-care involves activities that help you engage in meaningful, purposeful work. Examples include reflecting on your career and where you want it to go, brainstorming ideas for a side hustle, growing something, building something, painting, crafting, cooking, and identifying areas of burnout.
financial self-care
Financial self-care involves activities that help you manage your finances and assets responsibly. Examples include declaring your money goals, determining your budget, reviewing your accounts including savings, retirement, and passive income streams, and creating an investment and wealth growth plan.
environmental self-care
Environmental self-care involves activities that help you create harmony within your home and sacred spaces and your greater environment. Examples include decorating your spaces, decluttering your office, cleaning and organizing rooms, being outside with nature, grounding, gardening, and being eco-friendly.
This is really a must have, and helped me focus on the areas where I fell a bit short. This journal really helped me refocus and center myself into what really matters and let go of what does not.
