I recently had the pleasure of visiting Fairview Wine Estate, nestled amidst the rolling vineyards and breathtaking views close to Stellenbosch. Fairview truly exudes character, and this time I opted for the master tasting within their tasting room (reservations recommended). Our knowledgeable guide walked us through the winemaking process while sharing interesting stories about the estate’s history.
Fairview boasts an impressive range of wines, from crisp Sauvignon Blancs to bold Pinotages. A personal highlight was walking by the Goats Tower, a quirky landmark that has become synonymous with Fairview. But Fairview offers more than just wine! They also produce a delectable selection of artisanal cheeses. On previous visits, I’ve indulged in their cheese pairing experience, where each cheese is expertly matched with a complementary wine. The creamy Goats Cheese with a glass of their Pinotage was an absolute revelation!
Beyond the wine and cheese, Fairview offers a delightful lunch experience where you can savor delicious food while taking in the stunning vineyard views. The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting, perfect for a leisurely afternoon.
